Jane Brown
Jane Brown, a native of Northern California, is a highly accomplished conductor and musician. With a Bachelor of Music in music curriculum and instruction from Brigham Young University and a Master of Arts in Music in woodwind performance and conducting from California State University, Chico, she established a strong foundation in both orchestral music and education. Jane later earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2022.
Jane began her conducting career in 2001, leading the Reno Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra for four years, enriching the musical experience of hundreds of young talents. She then took the helm as conductor and musical director of the Reno Pops Orchestra, making it a regional sensation. Throughout her career, Jane has conducted various orchestras, including the Ruby Mountain Symphony in Elko, Nevada, and the Tahoe Players in Reno, Nevada. She has also founded the Northern Nevada String Serenade and served as a guest conductor for numerous honor bands and orchestras, all while studying under renowned masters of conducting.
Jane is renowned for her passionate and energetic conducting style, fostering musicians' growth and inspiring them to reach their highest potential. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing innovative education and outreach programs, bringing the joy of music to thousands in Northeastern California and Northern Nevada. Jane Brown is a conductor dedicated to sharing the beauty of music with diverse audiences through engaging, thematic, and multimedia programming.
